Behavior Consultations

Consultations are comprehensive to ensure all aspects of the pet’s health and life are addressed. It is important to recognize that behavior problems are often related to underlying medical conditions. This may include physical pain as well as emotional pain, such as anxiety or fear. Identifying problems and intervening early ensures the best possible outcome for your pet and family. Full payment is due at the time of booking. We also accept CareCredit; for additional payment options and questions, please email staff@kindredvetcare.com

Follow Up Behavior Care

At the initial behavior consultation, your family will be provided the initial phases of their behavior plan. However, follow up is an essential piece to best set your family and pet up for long term behavioral success.

Follow up care allows for adjustments to further tailor your pet’s plan to their response and ongoing needs, and to take further steps to meet your family’s goals. The recommended framework is outlined below. Additional support is available, if desired.

  • Virtual Follow Up

In most situations, a phone call is recommended every month after the initial consultation, and is required for any medication refills. This provides an opportunity for you to check in with the doctor regarding any concerns, and for the doctor to help assess your pet’s response to their plan. Next steps in the plan can be taken, or adjustments to the current plan can be made to more effectively help your pet.

  • In-person Reassessment

Six months after the initial consultation, an in-person reassessment is important to gauge your pet’s overall progress. At this time, further steps can be taken with behavior modification, as well as medication adjustments, if needed.
